Summary:
Exploring Freshwater Habitats is about a variety of different freshwater habitats around the world. It takes
readers through different rivers and that animals that inhabit them as well as some of the plants that grow
around them. In addition to labeling the different plants and animals, the author tells the reader a bit about
what they do and some of their characteristics. The book also discusses the different food chains among
the animals who live in freshwater habitats.

I feel as if this book would be fun to have in my classroom for students to use and explore. It has a lot of
great information in it that can be very beneficial for students when learning about freshwater habitats,
food chains, and even different animals. It also has a lot of great pictures to help students follow along and
get a visual representation of the animals, plants, and habitats as a whole.

I believe that this book would be great to use for students in second to fifth grade. This book has an
immense amount of helpful information that can help students learn and explore different freshwater
habitats, animals, and plants. It also has a lot of pictures and labels to help students follow along and really
get an understanding for the information. The words are also very easy to read and the sentences are very
short, making it easy for children to read themselves.

If I were to use this book in my classroom I would use it when doing a unit on the different habitats in our
world. I would read it to my students and then have them do a project where they would create their own
freshwater habitats and all of the animals and plants that live in it. Then, I would have them each share
their projects to the class and discuss why they chose the plants and animals that they did to inhabit their
freshwater habitats.
