The book starts off by talking about Fredrick's childhood and his life growing up as a slave. Then it goes on to tell readers some cool facts and information about him and his life. The end of the book explains Fredrick Douglas’s fight to end slavery and his impact on slavery as a whole.  I would love to use this book in my classroom when teaching about slavery and historical figures in our world. It has a lot of great information and facts about Fredrick Douglas which can be extremely beneficial for students when learning about history. It also tells a lot about growing up as a slave as well as the history of slavery and the impact Fredrick Douglas made on slavery.  I feel as if this book would be great for students...

I Am Albert Einstein

Title: I Am Albert Einstein  Genre: Biography  Author: Brad Meltzer  Major Awards: New York Times Best Seller  Age group: 5 - 10 years old Summary:  I am Albert Einstein by Brad Meltzer is about a man named, Albert Einstein. The book takes us through Einstein’s life starting from when he was just a little boy. Growing up he never really fit in and always s eemed to be off in his own world exploring his own ideas. As life continued Albert found that not only did he love thinking but he loved thinking about how things worked/happened. One day, he came up with the idea of gravity and the way it worked in our world. Einstein became extremely famous and received many awards for his new ideas. At the end of the book, the author expresses the importance of never asking “why” in and outside of the classroom and how curiosity can lead you to so many undiscovered aspects of life.  I would certainly love to use this book in my classroom...

It explains his journeys, all the people he met, and most of all his way of planting seeds everywhere he went. The book touches especially on his relationships with the Indians and all the ways that they changed his life. The story ends by giving a brief statement about Johnny Appleseed after death and all that he has done for our world. I would love to use this book in my classroom when my students are learning about Johnny Appleseed. This book has a lot of great information about Johnny Appleseed and some of his journeys through life. It takes readers through different rivers and that animals that inhabit them as well as some of the plants that grow around them. In addition to labeling the different plants and animals, the author tells the reader a bit about what they do and some of their characteristics. The book also discusses the different food chains among the animals who live in freshwater habitats.   I feel as if this book would be fun to have in my classroom for students to use and explore. It has a lot of great information in it that can be very beneficial for students when learning about freshwater habitats, food chains, and even different animals. Officer Gabby tells the kids all about the different types of police officers such as, police officers who work in school, patrol officers, neighborhood officers, FBI agents, and even K-9’s. She also shares some of the different things they use in order to keep their community safe such as, radios, cop cars, helicopters, computers, and so much more.
